Our Story
It started when I noticed blokes and their sweat marks.
Some guys knew they had them. Others had no idea. But if I could see it, everyone else could too.
Once I noticed it, I started seeing it everywhere...even on a podcaster with a few million YouTube followers.
I kept thinking to myself: Surely there's a solution for this?
Turns out, the options weren't exactly impressive.
You could wear black, pack a spare shirt, pile on the antiperspirant, keep your jacket on... or wear a cheap undershirt that eventually soaked through anyway.
But none of those options actually let you forget about your sweat.
So I made 3 design decisions:
- Have your back. Most undershirts are glorified cotton tees. Even the sweat-proof ones usually only protect the armpits. But what about your upper back?! I wanted you covered in BOTH places.
- Keep you cool. The last thing you need as your first layer is something thick and itchy, making you sweat even more. That's why I chose lightweight, breathable Lenzing MicroModal as the main fabric.
- Make it invisible. The point is to make you free to wear whatever you want, so LayerOne had to fit close to your body and disappear under anything, without adding bulk.
And since I was already deep in the engineering of the latest sweat-proof technology... I had our team integrate SILVADUR™ odour protection as well, so you smell like daisies at the end of a long day.
You know why I'm so proud of this shirt?
Because it gives men who sweat their confidence and freedom back.
It's not trying to stop you from sweating. It just makes sure no one else can see it.
So you can stop worrying about it.
